Not According to Plan

It is with a heavy heart that I made the decision to cancel my Onboard Quilting Excursion!™ for the November 2020 Quilting with The Rambler & The Redneck event. Our cruise attendees have been notified. (Please check your email for the cruise newsletter and helpful link.)

It’s not easy to let go of a dream, but doing what is right isn’t always the easy path. More than not, it’s the road less traveled.

I want to publicly thank Patti Roznovak for all her hard work behind the scenes as my travel agent, and most importantly, my friend. Her countless hours in helping me navigate this journey are appreciated more than words can share. (a little secret, we are already searching for dates for our next high seas sailing!)

I am also very grateful to my friend and co-teacher Brian McCoy who believed in me enough to agree to teach with me on what was to be an epic adventure. Thank you for your support, wisdom, business-sense, for all the things you have done for me that can never be repaid. Third time’s a charm my friend – we WILL one day co-teach!

I would also like to thank my good friends at Island Batik who supported this adventure by providing the fabrics for our class sample quilts. Thank you for believing in me.

And of course, my biggest fan and long standing supporter, my partner in all things good, bad or ugly…thank you Johnny for walking this road less traveled with me. I seriously wouldn’t want to do life without you.

That said, I do believe, while I don’t pretend to fully understand, I do fully believe with all my heart that God has a plan and somehow I have a purpose in that plan. He gives and takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord. I leave you with the words behind the YouTube song “The Blessing” – the words I shared with my cruisers in today’s announcement.

Pardon me for a little while as I dry my eyes, put on my happy face, regroup and plan a future cruise…one where I hope Covid-19 is in the rearview mirror! I’d be lying if I didn’t say I need a little time to recover from this major disappointment.

This too shall pass, maybe like a kidney stone, but it will pass! In the meantime #StayCalmAndQuiltOn

Sorry your trip was canceled. Things are bound to get better someday and then you can an even better cruise-sew-along. Maybe you can record your onboard class and let us who can’t go on a beautiful cruise,,,to sew along with you.
    Bless you!

This pandemic/illness is getting in the way of so much… Hopefully, we have learned enough that if/when it happens again we know what NOT to do… as a country and can heal much faster. Save the plans, you can always restart!

I’m so sorry this trip was cancelled for you and those who planned to attend. It would be so much fun, I know! Maybe next year. Yes, God has a plan, and we don’t understand it always, but He has His reasons! He has bigger and better things for you, my friend! Maybe I can attend the next one! Have an awesome rest of the week!
