Welcome to The Quilt Rambler

Telling Your Story One Quilt At a Time

Our studio suffered a setback – however, NO quilts, customer quilts, or fabric were or are in harm’s way. Due to this we are not taking any longarm quilting bookings or commissioned t-shirt quilts until the first of 2018. Please pardon our dust while we remodel. Thank you for your love and support. We are Texas Strong and will reopen for business as quickly as possible.

Our company specializes in creating unique and one of a kind heirloom quilts using cherished t-shirts, sports jerseys, baby clothing or other memorable articles of clothing to tell your story!

All of our quilts are made with quality fabrics and materials made in the USA. Our quilts are actually quilted and not tacked or tied, giving the quilts an authentic look as well as durability and longevity.

We offer longarm quilting services to assist you in completing your quilt top.

A little about me

I’m Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler.

For almost two decades I have been talking about quilting, making quilts, teaching quilting, longarm quilting for hire, making t-shirt/memory quilts all the while sharing my love of quilting to all who would listen. I believe that quilts have a story, a unselfish love story, a story that needs to be told from both the viewpoint of the quilt maker and the recipient of the quilt.

Being an Island Batik Ambassador has opened the door for design and pattern writing – and soon, an online shopping experience here at The Quilt Rambler with original patterns as well as tools/patterns from Studio 180 Design and fabrics from Island Batik.

I’m excited to be expanding my teaching and traveling in 2018. As a Certified Instructor with Studio 180 Design, I have so much to share!

Join me as I share tips and techniques on my blog and tutorials on YouTube. Better yet, book The Quilt Rambler for an upcoming quilt event at your quilt shop, guild, or retreat!

The Quilt Rambler Rambles On

I love to ramble and I dearly love to quilt, and since I love to ramble about all things quilt related I’m a self-proclaimed quilt rambler who has the glee of show and tell combined with the gift of gab.

Is Time Standing Still?

It does feel like time is standing still. But things are actually moving forward. Here’s the status update for things at the Overton household and The Quilt Rambler Studio (all under the same roof!) Yesterday the Repipe Specialist dropped the water lines to replace the old galvanized pipes. This is not part of Harvey damage …
