Vincent’s Garden as Seen Around the Web

Talk about an incredible journey! When Island Batik first approached me with the concept of having a Signature Collection with my name on it…well…I’m still pinching myself!

When I became an Island Batik Ambassador in 2017, continuing in 2018, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with designing. The challenges put forth each month to the Ambassadors were both fun and at times challenging (grin). For grins you might want to search through the archives of my blog to relive the experiences with me.

One thing that totally amazed me was how different people could see the same collection of fabrics and come up with something so totally different and inspiring! This fascination continues.

There are 24 Island Batik Ambassadors (IBA) for 2021 – several of whom I have met personally, and all whom I admire greatly.  Twice a year they receive a box laden full of beautiful fabric collections as well as industry partner products to use in their monthly challenges.

I’d like to spotlight recent blog posts and projects that feature the Vincent’s Garden collection…please click on the links to visit each of these IBA’s blog, for each quilt has a story to tell that I’m sure you will find most interesting!

Connie Kauffman, Kauffman Designs

Connie posted her project back in January during the month’s placemat challenge. I am so in love with this that I printed out her blog so I could make a set for myself. It’s still in the to-do pile but what a perfect way to use those 2 ½” strips! Connie has a tutorial on her blog post.

Susie Webster, Webster Designs

Who doesn’t love making bargello quilts! And this collection is perfect for that with the variance of colorways. And of course, Susie would take time to make two! After all, it’s for a worthy cause! Visit her blog post for more information.

Brianna Roberts, Sew Cute & Quirky

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Brianna, yet. I will tell you that I am blown away by her creativity. I’m always in awe of applique, as that’s not something I do…but seriously folks – look at the way she interpreted the fabric texture and shading – I am soo in love with those butterflies!  You have to visit her blog post for closeups and a heartfelt story behind her choice of charitable organizations!

But Wait! There’s More!

I love how the IBA’s support one another – take for example this reposting on Instagram, and it goes without saying all the posts on Facebook!

Vincent’s Garden Collection is in route to stores now…I can’t wait to see what others create with either The Quilt Rambler patterns for this collection (Lights Shine Bright, Never Alone, and Split My Gaggle) or patterns and designs of their own choosing. There’s so much good stuff in this 20-piece collection! I just know you are going to love it!

This is Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler

It’s a beautiful collection Karen. I love it. I think I’d like to try those placemats for my cottage.
