Pattern Release – Jewels of The Caribbean

Sweet! Good things come to those who wait…and I have been waiting anxiously for this date to tell you about Jewels of The Caribbean, #TQR018

Jewels of the Caribbean uses the Wedge Star from Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design.

Jewels of The Caribbean is made with fabrics from my second signature collection, Sea Glass, by Island Batik. The fabric is in stores now (be sure to check out my webstore for precuts!).

A little fun tidbit….I design my quilts in Electric Quilt 8 (or EQ8 for short). Just recently EQ offered their Stash 2021 Download 3 which included Sea Glass!!! I would have missed it had my sister not been on their mailing list and brought it to my attention. As a designer with Island Batik I receive these digital images long before the public, but I have to admit, it was/is kinda cool to see your name in print so I spent the few dollars and downloaded the collection (which had other fabrics too).

Here’s the fabrics used in Jewels of The Caribbean from the Sea Glass collection.

By the way, click on the digital download tab to be redirected to my blank Fabric Key that you can print out to make a key for your projects. Very handy if I do say so myself!

It’s been a busy year so far, I feel like I’ve spent more time at the computer, either designing or pattern writing, than I have at the sewing machine. Here’s a look at my messy desk and multitasking with pattern editing, texting, and printing out a fabric key for my pattern tester Pat Reed.

I had asked Pat if she would be willing to test the pattern with my first Signature Collection, Vincent’s Garden, to which she agreed as she said the fabrics reminded her of her sunny Galveston Island home. I love the way it turned out and I am going to have to grab some more Vincent’s Garden from my store before it’s all gone to make one for myself!

Jewels of the Caribbean is a 24 page full color pattern with over 40 illustrations! The Wedge Star technique is not difficult, just detailed. That’s why I like to “hold your hand” with clear and precise instructions as well as plenty of graphics for those of us who “quilt by picture!”

The print booklet is now “gone to press” and will be here before the end of the month. All preorders will be autographed and mailed (USA only) as soon as they are delivered.

My international customers, and those who prefer a Digital PDF download, you are in for a sweet treat (after all it is Valentines!). Jewels of the Caribbean digital is available TODAY! Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to autograph that for you, but I am adding a bonus coloring page for a limited time only.

How About a giveaway!!! Due to shipping costs, the Fat Quarter Bundle of Sea Glass is limited to USA residents only.

Don’t forget to check out my pattern, Anfractuous, also made with the beautiful Sea Glass collection! Available both in print and digital PDF download.

I hope you will enjoy this newest addition to The Quilt Rambler Patterns. Be sure to check out our full line of patterns!

That’s absolutely beautiful! My visit to a Batik producing island was before I got into quilting, but now my husband says when we go back I’ll have to bring a couple extra suitcases.

  2. Kathy E. says:

Oh my, what a gorgeous quilt…especially in the Sea Glass collection! We recently returned from a tropical vacation to Oahu and the Big Island of Hawaii and I’d say that is my perfect idea of a getaway. Yes, it included a bit of fabric shopping!

  3. Cathy C says:

Beautiful quilt & love the colors of this collection. My ideal tropical vacation would be on a Caribbean beach, but with a chance for some fabric shopping nearby!

  4. DEBBIE STOEHR says:

I have cruised several times and love it. I would love to visit an area that produces lovely batiks, but do to age and mobility issues that will probably never happen.

  5. Christi says:

First, the pattern is wonderful and the fabric is beautiful. Just give me hot weather, blue water, and salty air. I love a great beach.
