On The Road Again

Surprise!

Yep, ya’ didn’t think I was going to just curl up under all my quilts and disappear, did ya’?

Well honestly, I didn’t think I’d be doing two blog posts at the beginning of the year either, but there ya’ have it!

I’ve got about a month out before I pack up my suitcases FULL of quilts to travel on down the road for a Texas Size Trunk Show in Lake Jackson.

In keeping with my “retirement plan” to reduce travel obligations, I’m stickin’ to my limited local engagements – but who can pass up the opportunity to show and tell over 20 years of quilting! Not this gal that’s for sure!

Tuesday, Feb 14th, I will be on the road again with my sidekick Dianne – we are both glad I won’t be hauling a pop up shop (that’s why I closed the business) but instead loaded down with all sorts of sweet things to pull out of my bottomless “Mary Poppins” sort of carpet bags to share my quilting journey with the quilters of Plantation Quilters Guild at their 9:30 AM meeting. Naturally I plan on sharing my quilts made with the Studio 180 Design tools! I’m looking forward to the “Let’s Talk Quilts” time together. Local yokels ya’ are welcome to join us!

But Wait, There’s More!

Just three days into “retirement” I get a call to come teach….She said yes!

Of course I did! I will be teaching the beautiful Aspiring Stars Sampler Quilt at the new retreat center at Stitchin’ Heaven just up the road a few hours or so! I can’t wait to see the new(ish) store – I have only been to the “original” location decades ago – and the photos of the retreat center looks like they have thought of everything that a quilter could possibly need to be in total sewing bliss. Add little ole me in the mix, plus some dark chocolate, and I think it’s going to be a rootin’ tootin’ good time!

All the information about the event, including a supply list, optional fabric kit, and how to register can be found at the Stitchin’ Heaven link. Hurry! Class size is limited and the website says register by Feb 1st.

By the way, Dianne says howdy.

Guess it’s back to organizing the studio – I’ve got a design wall full of orphan blocks that I would dearly love to have pieced together in time for the trunk show – can’t wait to share it and have my friends pick out the blocks/units that go with ALL the Studio 180 Design tools. There’s sew much to look forward to!

Hoping to see you sometime during my travels “on the road again
