Day 5 Vincent’s Garden PreCuts Blog Hop – Designer Spotlight

To wrap up our week of focusing on The Quilt Rambler’s Signature Collection, Vincent’s Garden, I have asked my Island Batik fellow designers to share their creations and new patterns featuring this beautiful collection. Take it away ladies!

Terri Vanden Bosch, Lizard Creek Quilting

It’s interesting how sometimes you are naturally drawn to a person, even when you haven’t had the opportunity to actually sit down and chat in person. Terri is such a person – we met through Island Batik and somehow formed an eternal bond. It was only natural when Island Batik presented the opportunity to support a Signature Collection with my designs that I asked Terri to be a part of my design team. She created a beautiful pattern called Cultivate, which your local quilt shops can order along with the entire fabric collection. Terri also shares her cute little pillow made with the “leftovers” from her beautiful quilt. I know you will find Terri’s designs delightful and I would strongly suggest that you sign up for her newsletter and blog! Here’s the link to Terri’s post.

Margaret Willingham, Eye of The Beholder Quilt Designs

Margaret is another special quilter with whom I have an eternal bond. Again, we met through Island Batik – I had the pleasure of being introduced to her at Fall Quilt Market 2017 through a mutual designer, Nan Baker (another special lady!) whom I had the pleasure of designing Mint Chocolate Chip pattern for her Northern Woods Signature Collection. I was totally awestruck by Margaret’s reverse appliqué designs. Not being an appliquér myself, she gave me a demo in her booth and I bought her & Nan’s new book Christmas Rapping knowing that if I ever stopped long enough I could actually learn how to appliqué with Margaret’s methods! I was thrilled when she agreed to be on my design team for Vincent’s Garden. I know you are going to enjoy Margaret’s blog post today as she actually provides a tutorial! Again, be sure to sign up for her newsletter and blog as you will be amazed and delighted by her designs. Here’s a link to Margaret’s post.

What’s Next?

Well, besides the announcement of the giveaway and wrap up post tomorrow there’s a lot to look forward to here in The Quilt Rambler studio. The patterns I’ve designed for Vincent’s Garden are coming in, Lights Shine Bright, Never Alone, and Split My Gaggle (the ones in the giveaway) – all the PDF’s will be on the website over the weekend and the final one in the collection will arrive from the printer this week.

Next up is writing patterns for the 2nd Signature Collection that is still “secret” until Island Batik’s Spring 2021 Catalog hits the stores. The good news is I am excited to announce that both Terri and Margaret are on my design team for that “unnamed” collection – you are going to be sew pleased with their upcoming designs! Such fun prints!

I did mention that I have an eternal bond with these fabulous ladies – the gift of their support continues as we are teaming up for the next round of secret sewing/designing together for my 3rd Signature Collection for the Fall 2021 Island Batik Catalog! Sew many good things to come.

But right now – it’s your final day to register for the giveaway!

Land Locked Quilting Cruise – May 2021

Speaking of upcoming events – I hope you will take advantage of the savings to register this week for this fun-filled, action packed quilting event, live and in person with The Quilt Rambler! I will be teaching all three of my newest patterns! Space is limited with just a few spots remaining! Don’t delay, register today.

This is Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler, thanks for blog hopping with us!

Tune in tomorrow as I announce the winners of our giveaway!

This collection has certainly been a joy to work with. I have a few other quilts in mind that I’d like to make with Vincent’s Garden myself…time will tell!
