????one love???? From Jamaica

Karen here, The Quilt Rambler at sea, reporting in ????- but of course you know that if you’ve been following along … I can’t believe today was our last day at port! Where has the week gone!

Just a quick update – posting from my phone so forgive the format and any typos – just couldn’t wait to share a bit of our adventures!

Packed up Saturday night to head out to Galveston to join the staff and other teachers from Stitchin Heaven Quilt Shop for the Texas our Texas quilting cruise. I couldn’t believe I got everything in just 4 bags! Clothing for the two of us plus all the handouts and items needed to teach my pattern Geese Over Galveston Bay.

My first class was Monday and I’m going to Ramble more later on the classes, as there are two more sets of students I will be teaching Friday and Saturday. I’ve been posting on social media so now is a good time to follow The Quilt Rambler if you haven’t already …  but here’s a group photo at the end of class on Monday.

Thought I’d share a few photos of our island experiences..

Tuesday we returned to Cozumel, I say “returned” as Johnny and I honeymooned here in 1980. Here’s the hotel! The one on the beach with the blue beach chairs and tiki huts, red roof.

I love to shop for local crafts, especially to add to my collection of talavera pottery. I will have to share photos later of my treasure hunt.

I can shop with the best of them, but I think I wore Johnny out – take a look ????

Wednesday was Grand Cayman. We chose not to get off the ship but instead to relax, listen to music and take a much needed nap and a little exploring around the ship.

Today, Thursday, is Jamaica- another of my favorites! Again, just a little shopping for local crafts. This is where I purchased my large parrot carving years ago that you may have seen in photos of my Land Locked Quilting Cruise classroom. It was fun to see more parrots and various other carvings and local art – again, more photos to come later.

I did purchase a new parrot – as the colors match my logo. This is the artist who made it.

Found a few friends on the island too …

Today is Janice’s birthday (the one on the left) She and Cindy were on my very first quilting Cruises I taught in 2015 and 2016 sponsored by Cactus Quilts (fondly know as “Carla’s”) Sew blessed they have joined me again on yet another adventure at sea!

As I mentioned – I’m at the mercy of a cellphone and ship internet so I have no idea how all this will turn out ????????‍♀️ but this rambler couldn’t wait any longer to give you a bit of an update. Like I said – hop over to Facebook to see more photos. I will share my classroom experiences later.

This is Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler At Sea!
