Island Batik has the yummiest fabrics! As an ambassador and a new designer I not only enjoy the eye candy but actually get to play with the fabric and make sweet concoctions. This week’s blog hop features Nan Baker’s collection Northern Woods with patterns centered around the theme of a mother bear gathering “sweet treats” to share with her neighbors in the Northern Woods.
Mint Chocolate Chip
The Northern Woods collection was just “purrfect” for my pattern made with AccuQuilt’s Drunkards Path dies.
In keeping with Nan’s sweet treats theme the quilt was named Mint Chocolate Chip, don’t you think the pieced border resembles wrapped candy treats?
Can’t See The Forest For The Trees
I had a few scraps left over and decided to play ~ this is the beginnings of a new design I’m calling Can’t See The Forest For The Trees which is still in development. I plan on making a wall quilt for my home and perhaps a pillow ~ just something to remind me not to let life be so overwhelming.
I also have plans to use these fabrics in a future quilt showcasing one of Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design patterns.
Coming To A Quilt Shop Near You
Northern Woods collection is arriving in quilt shops now.
I am excited to be able to offer fabric kits for my pattern Mint Chocolate Chip, as the fabrics have just arrived! For more information about the pattern or the kits please contact us.
As an Island Batik Ambassador I received a collection of fat eights in the entire collection of Northern Woods to use in upcoming monthly ambassador challenges so be sure to follow my blog to see what delectable delights will come from The Quilt Rambler studio.
