April’s Monthly Goal

I missed last month’s One Monthly Goal with Elm Street Quilts, I honestly don’t know where March went and here it is April! And what a fabulous month this is going to be! So many wonderful things planned I hope you will join me!

April’s Goals:

Little Lion Judah loves to play with the trimmings when The Quilt Rambler plays with Island Batik fabrics

My goals are quilt related but not necessarily making a quilt…what?

Yes, it’s going to be more of a rambling month with some roaring reporting going on by my sidekick, Little Lion Judah as The Quilt Rambler is on the road, in the air, on the air, and all around social media this month.

Mark your calendar and join me for some of these goals and goal reporting!

It’s All About The Blog, No Trouble

Subscribe to The Quilt Rambler blog — actual subscription button is in the sidebar!

it’s all about the base, no treble”  Okay, so perhaps everything isn’t a song after all, but I bet you are humming it (grin).

First goal is to reach 500+ subscribers to The Quilt Rambler Blog by midnight 4/3/18 – if you have found me in blog land somewhere, won’t you be kind enough to find that little button on the right hand side of the screen and take a chance on me (“take a chance on me” – yep – remember that song from Momma Mia!)

Some of the benefits of having a subscription, besides not missing a single ramble, is the upcoming blogs planned for this month! Which is part of the goal of increased subscribers.  Here are a few things you have to look forward to: a Blog hop with Island Batik’s City Culture 2 collection, the Blog hop with Island Batik’s Northern Woods collection, the adventures of Little Lion Judah and company on two road trips (details below) and the coverage of a new quilt shops grand opening! Now doesn’t that just make you want to jump over to the right-hand column, enter your email address and hit that subscribe button! Don’t be confused, this photo doesn’t do it for you – you have to hit the actual button in the sidebar! Go ahead, you know you want to!

Upcoming Road Trip Goals

Island Batik’s Blue Moon collection

I’m super excited to be vending at the Beaumont Golden Triangle Quilt Guild Show  April 13-14. I will be demonstrating Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design tools and techniques in The Quilt Rambler booth #143. In addition to all of Deb’s products, I will also have Island Batik fabrics and fabric kits available for purchase.

Immediately after this fun road trip, I will be taking to the air to join Deb Tucker and company on the road to Paducah! I will be assisting in her booth at the AQS show and can hardly wait! Paducah has been on my bucket list for years!  Are you attending? If so, then you will find me in the Studio 180 Design booth and I’d love it if you stopped by to say hi!

But Wait, There’s More!

Immediately after Paducah, I will be ON THE AIR or at least on a podcast with none other than Pat Sloan herself! I am over the moon excited about this and can’t begin to imagine being interviewed by her. I just hope I can fill up my allotted 12-minute session (grin). Won’t you join me for this!

Live Showtime is
4 pm-5 pm Eastern
3 pm – 4 pm Central
2 pm – 3 pm Mountain
1 pm – 2 pm Pacific

Quilting Goal

Did you think I wasn’t going to have time to sew this month? Well, here’s the real challenge – I’ve got my idea floating around in my head and by the end of the month I have great plans to share with you my Island Batik Ambassador project. I can’t wait to cut up some fabric and sew!

Oh, and somewhere in between all this, I will share updates on our reconstruction Post-Hurricane Harvey. So eager to get back into the REAL studio, not to mention the rest of the house! Yep, it’s going to be an epic month!

So if you haven’t subscribed to The Quilt Rambler blog I hope I’ve given you something to consider as I look forward to sharing my April happenings! A rambler needs an audience after all and it’s a whole lot more fun to share the journey with others! Speaking of others, be sure and check out those who have linked up with Elm Street Quilt’s One Monthly Goal! I’ve been introduced to some great bloggers and Instagram quilters through this project!

This is Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler, reminding you to take time to enjoy the journey and get off the beaten path every now and then to enjoy the flowers!

I hope you love Paducah! I went with my mom and her guild a few years ago, and she’s going this year too. (She attends every year her guild is able to take a bus.) I look forward to the podcast with Pat!

I can hardly wait for Paducah- but there’s a lot to look forward to between now and then! Tell you mom to look for Deb’s booth to come say hello and maybe take a photo to put in the blog report ????

Paducah is on my bucket list. You lead such an exiting life. You have your ups and downs, but you always see the sunshine through the rain. I love reading your blog. My daughter lives in Tomball, so when I’m in the Houston area, I think, ‘what if I see Karen Overton?’. I would love to be that little lion Judah. He is truly blessed as well as you. Till I read your next blog.

If you are THAT close then you do have to arrange a visit! There’s a great retreat center in Tomball run by my friend Diane Anderson called Quilter’s Cabin – I bet your daughter has been there! Stay tuned for more from my roaring reporter, Little Lion Judah!

I’ve been to Paducah once but didn’t see nearly all of it! Maybe I can go again one day. If I make it, I will definitely look you up! Looking forward to the rest of your blogs and projects!

    • TheQuiltRambler says:

I’m not sure what I will be able to see in Paducah from the view point of a vender – but that’s okay as I really just like to talk and meet new people! Thanks for keeping up with me through the blog – perhaps one day our paths will cross in person!
