Little Lion Judah In The Country

Nothing better to clear your mind than springtime in the country! The Quilt Rambler and Little Lion Judah enjoyed our road trip Tuesday to our “quilt retreat” in the country. It was a beautiful day for a drive with lots of photo opportunities along the way. Thought I’d share a few. Since I’m operating on the phone and not the computer pardon the layout/typos/etc.

I did get my gear all unpacked and set up. I can’t tell you the joy of being able to spread out and begin to sew. Quilt retreats are like that – an opportunity to focus but equally important a time to laugh and share with friends, enjoy meals together, and of course get a little sewing in and laughing at your mistakes while you fix them.

As much fun as we had getting here, setting up, sewing a little, and laughing a lot – the best part of my day was getting the text that it is now “Facebook official” – we are going to be first time grandparents!!!!

This is Karen Overton, The Quilt Rambler On The Road, wondering what name to be called? Granny ?

Ma-Ma? Mi-ma? ????????????

Beautiful flowers……here it is raining and cold! Oma is the Dutch name for grandma, why not use that one?
    And “Hartelijk gefeliciteer” = congratulations!

Congratulations! This is exciting news 🙂 No matter what name you choose to go by, I’m sure there will be lots of cuddling with quilts in your future. What a beautiful day for this fun little photo shoot. Glad you were able to get out, smell some fresh air and take little Judah on an adventure.

Congrats on the grand baby announcement. I became a granny for the first time way back in February 1995. I wanted to be “Nanny” but that’s not the way it turned out. I’m Gramma and my mom who is astonishingly still here with us is Nanny. Enjoy every minute because grand kids grow up even faster than regular kids.

Oh, Karen, congratulations! Grandbabies are the best! I’m so happy for you. We did pick out our names (GiGi and Peeps) and after three grands, those names have stuck! I told our daughter that I didn’t really care what they call me, as long as they call me!!

I love that you picked your name and they were “trained” to call you by those names – and I do agree that the most important is being called! Thanks for sharing Brenda!

Congratulations on the new grandbaby!! They are so wonderful! #5 for me is due in July! With my first granddaughter I refused to pick a name for her to call me so my daughter called me “no name”…my granddaughter translated that to Nonie. Her other grandmother’s name is Pat and she was dubbed “Paka”. Love the names that the little ones pick out for us!

Five! Congratulations to you too! Yes, it is fun to see the variations of names that have popped up in the comments today. Lots to think about – and I’ve been told that sometimes, like you, the first grandchild makes it up and all the others have to follow. True leadership of the firstborn!
